  • A good selection of hits and misses

This issue of 60 UK Brunswick tracks is not to be confused with the other set in this series that covers the US Brunswick label. These recordings are sourced from US Decca and are a fair selection from the chosen period ('59 - '62). NB: The Perry Sisters was actually issued on 05802 and the Del Shannon pastiche was performed by Dante Storace. Rockin around with Ollie Vee is the original US issue, not the UK version which used an alternative take featuring a saxophone. There are 6 complete singles here; 24 stereo tracks; 14 female vocals, including 6 by Brenda Lee and 11 hits from the 21 that made it to the charts at this time. The UK label has been in abeyance since 1977 and I don't think it's coming back!
