Excellent noise cancellation...
Recently bought this for my CR-1a Radio. This speaker does a very decent job of reducing white noise, pops, clicks and such. Heterodynes are reduced, but still audible in most cases. While primarily for voice copy, it does not too badly for monaural music stations on SWBC bands. Headphone/audio jack is excellent and all the parts and buttons are of superior quality IMO. It is a solidly built, very nice accessory for those needing clearer copy of utilities, amateur HF and SW stations. The only beef for me is the cord. While long enough, it is somewhat awkward when doing the stand and the ferrite core for audio NC is in the way at times. It also could be better done with a stereo jack, since most modern rigs have this, but it still works in general with both stereo and mono 1/8" formats. VE4VEVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

It does the job although I would prefer sensitive selection by rotary knob and a go through switch to turn it on/off.
