The most important item in a drumkit is what you sit on....
I am a drummer and have a Tama 1st Chair saddle throne, which would always be my best recommendation, but IT IS EXPENSIVE. I needed a chair for visiting accordionists (from Scotland - I play Scottish Dance music), preferably with a backrest. I know Mapex gear is always good value, and so I bought this one. At its price level (usuallu approx £120 this is an excellent chair, and well up to an evening of hard work. I have used it on two gigs and found it more than adequate. I am quite heavy, about 14 stone but not fat, and play energetically. I am confident that my accordionist friends will find the chair very comfortable. I have waited a long time for the right drum throne to come along. Now the one I have is excellent.
It is very well made and very comfortable. It has a good back rest which is needed when spending a long time behind a drum kit. I have tried others and they just do not compare to the standard of this throne. A "Curate's Egg" for a throne.
I had high hopes for this. It has ended up less than expectations. Seat to post wobbles in spite of a key slot. 4 legs rather than 3 results in a slightly wobbly base. Comfy throne
