As fitted by the Fire Service
Bought to replace one fitted by the Fire Service . As it was free I didn't feel I could complain when it started false alarming at all hours of the day and night. That was an ST-622 so maybe this one will have the trouble free 10 year life they are renowned for. It is well designed cosmetically and unobtrusive when in place on the ceiling.You screw the base in place then rotate the alarm to clip it to the base. This switches on the long life battery. There is a red l.e.d. to tell you that it's on and you can test or reset it with the big central button. The reason for having smoke alarms is, of course, to save the house occupants if a fire should break out. I shall only be able to report on the excellent performance of this item whilst standing in the street outside the smouldering ruins of my house in my pyjamas clutching my insurance policy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

GREAT DESIGN BUT BE AWARE
Bought these as the design, battery life features were exactly what I wanted . Unfortunately I decided to use the sticky back foam only and did not use the screw fitting supplied. FireAngel 10 year Smoke Alarm.
Good detectors, have used them for a few years now, the only Minus is don't believe the Batteries last 10 years, maybe about 5 or 6. The plus side, it may be cheaper than replacing the batteries in your old type. A Problem Solved
I'm a Landlord and my biggest problem has been that the batteries in smoke alarms fit all manner of kids toys. All too frequently a tenant will 'borrow' the battery to please a child whose toy has rung out of power. The next thing that happens is they replace the battery for the toy but not the one they have removed from the smoke alarm. Why? Well! the battery needed is not cheap and buying two at once for many families is not an option so they economise. The local Fire Service recommended the FireAngel ST-620, which comes with a battery that cannot be removed and lasts for years. I've now installed FireAngel St-620 in all my properties. High quality product
The unit is sleek and easy to mount. Obviously I'd rather not find out how well it works! It is not over sensitive to small quantities of smoke from cooking. Very discrete on the ceiling.
It's hard to make an accurate review on a product that only activates if something goes wrong. Ok, if you wait long enough you will see that it does flash every so many seconds which proves that the battery is still active. The weekly test is also another confirmation that the unit is active.
