ROSIN (20-1000g). Used as a base component for a reference flux (25% solution in isopropyl alcohol). very good flux when soldering with a tin and lead alloy. may also be used for horsehair strings to increase the roughness and thus improve string adhesion.
Very easy to use. Produces a nice clean good solder joint. Also makes component removal easier if the solder has oxidised. Excess is easily removed with a q tip soaked in iso alcohol. This is a very brittle product and shatters easily in its tin. The application of mild heat to the underside of the tin quickly liquifies the contents and when cooled the contents are solid again.
It's solid like glass and needs melting, not comparable to paste.
This product is solid like glass, making is less convenient to use than paste flux rosin. It melts easy enough with a soldering iron, but I found it not as good as a paste for normal soldering and especially SMC work. That said, it's high quality EU made product at a very reasonable price.
Just be sure it's what you need for the type of soldering or applications you're doing.
Never used this stuff before, gotta say its excellent when mixed with 25ml of 99% alcohol, works very well and makes loads. good stuff! ive mixed mine and put it in syringes
I used this to re-flow my laptop, which I had re-flowed a few times.
Then I was advised to us the above Rosin Fluk and it worked great.
I have tested the laptop by leaving the laptop on for a few days none stop, and it's still going.
I must say the product is solid as stone but I knew that before purchasing, you need to scrap some, on a piece of aluminum foil and use a small knife to place some about half a centimeter above the chip, then you must heat the problem chip up, then melt the Rosin Fluk and make sure the fluk travels underneath the chip to all four sides.
This is what I did from a video which I saw on youtube and it worked for me. You will do this at your own risk, I didn't have money for someone to do that for me, so once again, do this at your own risk!
I definitely recommend this product and its well priced.Read full review
This flux is amazing for the price better than most expensive brands, exceptional for water damage repairs as leaves a coating on the under side of and components thanks
