I have been messing about with these for over a year now. Specifically for MIDI sequencer or controller type projects. Fantastic value for money and a lot of fun experimenting.

This is a very capable compact chip with a small number of GPIO pins and a decent amount of storage for a small program. You need a program controller to upload your code to the chip, but once complete it only requires power and connecting to the rest of your circuit. Can be used in conjunction with an RF receiver / transmitter to communicate with other devices as well as relays, servos, buttons, switches and sensors to build up a simple control circuit. Excellent introduction into coding and task automation

Have a few projects on the go that only require 2 or 3 output pins. This ATTINY85 meets my needs perfectly in lieu of an Arduino Nano. Drivers were easily downloaded and installed, and programming via the Arduino GUI and an Arduino Nano was simple. A flash memory of 8k may not seem much, but if you utilise good and concise programming, then 8K is actually quite a lot. Love the product, will be buying more soon.
