She currently lives in Idaho. Where the Crawdads Sing is her first novel. Perfect for fans of Barbara Kingsolver and Celeste Ng, Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder.
Beautifully written; author paints with her words. Compelling story of Kya living in a swamp, overcoming adversity. A tale of survival & learning to thrive in a hostile, prejudiced world
Our book club all bought a copy of this as we couldnt get to our local library. I had never heard of it and the title is intriguing but gives nothing away. I absolutely loved it and would recommend it as a brilliant, thought provoking and beautiful book. Some of our group even said it was the best book they had read for years.......Get a copy right away!
If you're umming and aaring about buying this book.... Do it. I have recently joined a book club and was a bit sceptical as this isn't the usual genre I would go for.... I loved it. The ultimate plot twist, and even bought a tear to my eye.
I found this book enchanting. Eloquently written, poignant, comical at times.
I didn’t want the book to end but happy that my aspirations ended how I hoped they would. It made all my emotions tantalised.
This is possibly the best book I've ever read. The story line is so cleverly woven it held my attention to the end - and beyond. I found i couldn't forget it for days.
