A midlife crisis buddy movie.
Heartwarming, funny movie. But it's a bit misogynistic. The wives are left home. The one female that is on the trip has a small role. But that was the nature of these kinds of movies back then. Jack Palance who played a hundred different villians in 50s westerns and melodramas is perfectly cast as the old school cowboy tough guy. A young Jake Gyllenhaal plays Billy Crystal's son.
