One of the most advanced gaming systems around, this matte-coloured Nintendo Switch console features 32GB of hard disk capacity and comes with neon red and neon blue detachable controllers. The Switch is capable of sophisticated motion capture via its movement detection technology, elevating gaming experiences to another level. It's also region free, so the console can be used anywhere in the world.
Still in awe that they managed to pack this much power into such a compact system, but that's Nintendo for you. Both the system and its UI are fun and easy to use - plus the satisfying 'click' of sliding the joycons into place never gets old.
However I still don't think it's good value for money, with its retail price at around £279, you're better off finding a deal for at least £250. Bear in mind, the console doesn't come with a game (unlike previous systems) so you'll be spending £50 on that, plus another £60 for extra joycons.
Overall I am pleased with the system so far. I only have Splatoon 2, but it's been keeping me occupied. My only gripe is the hefty price of peripherals but Nintendo did need to recover financially from the Wii U.
After having a wii and a wii U, I found that the Switch is not up to the usual Nintendo quality of hardware, in fact it feels cheap and plasticky. It has multiple problems, just google them.
We suffered the "joy con not connecting" problem, I had to take it apart and found a connector pin was out of place, I managed to repair this fault, but I have the equipment and skills to do this.
I would wait a while until all the problems are resolved. Im surprised that Nintendo released a product with so many faults. I will be surprised if this Switch lasts a year, even with care
Great item, love playing with family members. There are plenty of multiplayer games to play on, lots of genres for everyone. The set up to the tv is easy and it's really simple to connect and disconnect from it aswell. The screen size is great for single playing, for multiplayer it's better on the TV and the controllers are easy to navigate aswell. Would definitely recommend!! A++
And of any console or gaming system/PC, this is the best and most fun to play on! So customisable for your style of play, always has two controllers so you can split it for multiplayer whenever you want, ZELDA, MARIO ODYSSEY/KART, can plug into big screen whenever, motion controls, great battery life for the power (can play for longer than my laptop).
It's just amazing! Anyone who loves to have fun (don't even need to be a gamer) should get one. Great to play solo or in a group, and up to 8 controllers can connect at once!
I own the PS4 Pro and a high-end gaming pc, but this is the most fun I've had playing games in years.
The fact that I can play on my big TV screen at home, then just pick it up and take it wherever I'm going and continue playing is just amazing.
Nintendo have done a fantastic job with this console and the game library do far is really strong!
