This was a bargain really. Lucky to have got such a good price. Yes, SSD is on the small size, but easy to connect external USB storage or use cloud storage like OneDrive, MegaSync or pCloud. Fairly snappy for everyday computing needs. Probably wouldn't be powerful enough for serious video editing, but perfect for most other everyday use cases, such as children's homework, web browsing or graphic design. Only one gripe really: the Mac Mini doesn't have internal speakers, which caught me by surprise. Easily resolved with a bluetooth speaker though. Runs silently. Good connectivity. Nice to have a modern computer at last, after making do with various old Linux and Windows machines for many years. This one just works. No faffing about.

The only downside to the mac mini is the storage is on the low side and to upgrade through apple cost a fortune. Invest in an external thunderbolt SSD drive and upgrade the RAM yourself as it can still be done on this model. I've just upgraded the RAM to 16gb crucial ddr4 for £100. To do this through Apple would be nearly 3 times the cost. They will rip you off where they can. I edit large photos in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and it works very nicely. If you intend to do video editing then I'd probably suggest investing in an external graphics card as the integrated one won't be good enough.

Small and compact, yet fast and powerful. Good looking to boot. I’ve used Macs (iMacs and Minis) for years and they are quite simply bombproof. My original server is a 2010 Mac Mini and it’s still going strong. With Server software available for free and MS Office available, I don’t understand why people still buy PCs. I accept that Macs are more expensive, but they last forever and don’t require any IT support. The beauty of the Minis is that it’s very simple to upgrade/add monitors.

Bought one to replace my 2011 mac mini. As I only browse and email, the basic version was all I needed. But Apple would have done better by me by including a 250Gb SSD rather than the very mean 128Gb. I now have to add an external SSD to hold my data and Photos etc. The USB C ports mean I have had to buy adaptors to be able to use USB A plugs (though there are two USB A ports provided). I think the new macmini is significantly snappier than the old one, and I hope for a lifetime as good if not better than the old one. At least now I will be able to use future versions of MacOS!
