Because this is 2 albums on 1 CD, I'm gonna start by reviewing ''Rock Around The Clock'' album. It's not the greatest piece of work but for a first proper Rock and Roll it isn't too bad There's few silly songs but there's sure few sure that will make you jive, swing and dance like the ground-breaking genre-defying ''Rock Around The Clock'', ''Shake, Rattle And Roll'', ''Razzle Dazzle'', the underrated ''Dim Dim The Lights'' and ''Rock A Beatin Boogie''
''Rock And Roll Stage Show'' doesn't follow the same pattern which explains why Bill Haley popularity fizzled out in late 50's. Most of the songs on the album are instrumentals and yes Rock And Roll genre has a lot of instrumentals (Some of them becoming huge hits in their own right) these do get boring after a while. I get the impression, Bill Haley run out of ideas and lyrics for the follow up album and so he asked the rest the band to play instrumentals for good half of the album. Mixed them down and edit them and bingo! Album number 2 was ready! Album number 2 doesn't live up to Album number 1, tho. The songs with lyrics are a bit smarter however a lot is left still to wish for. Stand out songs include ''Rockin Through The Rye'' and ''See You Later, Alligator''
