You get what you pay for. They are cheap... but still do what they are designed for. Covered in grease when you get them. I use mine for wood turning and the outside edged and straight calipers are used the most. Just had to sand off the points on the outside edge ones so they don;t catch and dig in on my work. No need to buy anything else.

the guide and the fixed end are riveted into the legs of the caliper, thi...s is a bit tight and the initial movement damages the threads on the adjusting screw. You need to free these by holding them in the vice and working them to free them up. Once done the calipers work OK. The fact that the screw is riveted into the fixed end makes freeing it up that bit harder.

Just acceptable for occasional use, as the screw adjus...tment on some of the instruments binds up at some places on the threads.
