With the situation in Iraq rapidly deteriorating, the British Army face the unenviable task of keeping the peace in an already volatile region. But that fragile peace is shattered when a roadside bomb kills a popular company captain, leaving the platoons morale at its lowest ever. Acting on orders, two young recruits round up suspects from a house-to-house search and take out their frustrations on the detainees. Emotions run high and the soldiers frustration turns to sadism as they exact all manner of physical and psychological abuse on the prisoners, pausing only to take photographs. Back home in England, the men are haunted by their actions and when the story goes public, they are faced with a serious moral dilemma: stay loyal to their army or confess everything. Bearing echoes of Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, THE MARK OF CAIN is a relevant drama about how the horrors of war can drive even the sanest of men to unimaginable acts of barbarism.

Good points:
Very enjoyable story line, easy to follow and clear-cut. Performances are believable, emotions shown very well and some good acting all round. Action sequences at the beginning are also very good showing the comradeship between the troops and insights as to the situation troops went through.
Bad points:
Some people may be disappointed by the short segment of action, this film contains more speech and talking than action. However, the film isn't let down by the non-action scenes which contribute to the films solidarity and great story line.
Conclusion:
A good solid film-definitely worth a watch. As fore mentioned the lack of action sequences may have some people a bit bored but all round a very enjoyable film.
great british film, iraq is in a right mess and our lads are having a beating out there this movie is amust ,if it learns you anything it will show how a great job our troops are doing .
