These much sought after relays are getting thin on the ground second hand and the prices are going up. As it came from outside the UK I was prepared for a long wait, but it arrived quickly and worked perfectly. I used it to add an intermittent wash/wipe facility to the Lucas 14W wiper motor on my classic car.
I used this to add variable intermittent wipe to my landy. It was a straight swap for the existing relay, I unplugged the old one and plugged in the VW replacement. I now have infinitely variable intermittent wipe by turning on (pushing down) the wiper stalk on the steering column, turning off after the first wipe, then turning on again when needed and leaving in the on position. The relay then remembers the number of seconds required for intermittent wipe. From testing on a drizzly drive into work, this is from 1 or 2 seconds to around 20 seconds. Default is about 7 or 8 seconds and is reset each time the ignition is turned off. There is an added bonus that there is a short wipe when the washer button is pressed for a short time.
