I have used this brand for over 50 years. This has always met my expectations, and has sealed certain joints where other compounds have not been 100% successful! Obviously gasket sealant technology has advanced over the years, but in many circumstances this product ‘ticks’ all of the boxes, particularly with cork gaskets, which by their very nature, if ‘over’ tightened, in an attempt to seal, will undoubtedly leak due to uneven compression of cork gaskets!

This high quality sealant is deceptively good. It is easily applied as a sort of thin gel but if you take the joint apart later for any reason you'll find that it has settled to a more even form which is semi hardened. It's also changed colour to a grey from blue! This provides an excellent seal surprising in view of how malleable the stuff is when it's being applied.

Blue Hylomar is ethanol resistant, unlike RTV & silicone based engine sealants. Blue Hylomar is the only safe sealant to use on 2 stroke engine rebuilds and will prevent the inevitable curse of ethanol engine crank bay sealant wash away, that now plagues all 2 stroke engines since some idiot decided to contaminate petrol with ethanol. If your classic 2 stroke motorcycle engine suddenly starts ingesting and burning its own gearbox oil, then you'll need to split the crank cases and reseal them with Blue Hylomar. I've had 5 of my 2 strokes suffer from ethanol wash away, one twice after resealing it with my usual sealant that I'd been using for the past four decades. It took ethanol contaminated petrol less than 50 miles to wash it away around the crank bay, after being freshly resealed. After 5 year of being sealed with Blue Hylomar, no problems with it. Really well packaged. Unfortunately an issue with the courier meant I didn’t receive my package for quite a long time. I suppose these things happen. I will give 5 stars as I feel everything would have been fine if not for the courier issue

I first used this back in the early 70’s. It was developed by Rolls Royce, and was mega expensive. It would be around £80 for one tube at today’s comparative rate. It is simply the best

I have used this product before and found it to be a quality product and very effective as a sealant. It will be used to fit and seal a new water pump to the car engine. I am replacing the water pump again but only because the pump bearing failed. The Hylomar sealant is still holding. This application is being used on a car engine where the engine collant is hot water under pressure.

It does the job, and has been used for many years. Just be careful not to apply too much, resulting in globules reaching the inside of the engine or other components.
