Based on the same book Alfred Hitchcock adapted on screen in his 1927 film THE LODGER, David OndaatjeÆs movie is transferred to present day and set in the alluring Californian city. An experienced cop is investigating on the case of a serial killer whose technique is scarily similar to the one used by another criminal sentenced to death years before. Maybe the real culprit for that string of horrendous murders is still free and the wrong man has been sent to die.
