Codex Sinaiticus is arguably the world's oldest bible (bar the loss of pages from the Old Testament). Dated to early 4th century, and deriving from St. Catherines Monastery on Sinai, where it was housed until 1859, after being discovered by Constantin von Tischendorf, the major part of it is preserved in the British Library from 1933, after being purchased from Joseph Stalin. This is an account of one of the most valuable British Library exhibits, published in association with the British Library.
