    Good for children

    This is a good book for children. The fingering charts for each new note are very clear and the theory is short and concise. More emphasis is placed on the playing. The songs are not all easily recognisable but there are enough that you know so that makes it easier to guage whether you have it right. I would say this is better when working with a teacher. Although it is graded for some exams, I would say that it wouldn't be sufficient if you seriously want to learn music theory. Having said that, it's a very good starting point and doesn't confuse younger children and doesn't spoil the fun of playing by being too theory heavy.
