Charles Dickens was born on February 7, 1812, in Landport, Portsea, England. He died in Kent on June 9, 1870. A turn of fortune in the shape of a legacy brought release from the nightmare of prison and "slave" factories and afforded Dickens the opportunity of two years' formal schooling at Wellington House Academy.
Cover is different to the book that is advertised which I realised isn't a big deal, but could be to some. Also there was no mention of the book being second hand. It said the condition was 'very good', but it wasn't as its torn in places and can't read some of the words. I have to keep it as I'm desperate for it for my English A Level, but this could be bigger problem to others than it is for me, especially if they were looking to give it as a gift.
Easy to navigate website, plenty of choice at very reasonable prices. Bought this as a present for my granddaughter who is reading her way through a list of 100 classic books so the books by Charles Dickens naturally come into that.
