  • Great fun for a large group of singers including children.

Purchased the full piano vocal score. Score covers up to five stages when both chorus and semi-choir or children are singing. The words are mostly in African languages and where the pronunciation is not as English it is written in italics underneath. As with a lot of African music, harmonically it is straight forward with only a few accidentals. It is the fast pace, syncopated rhythm, tied notes and getting your tongues around the foreign words that offer the greatest challenge. Sections are frequently repeated with change of flow directions and first and second time endings making it more tricky to sight read. Where there are more than just SATB parts, it can be harder to find the correct stave. For tenors, all staves are in the bass clef. Hand claps are notated above the top line. Most of the songs are in either F, G, A, D or C key signatures. Overall this is a great fun sing for a large group of singers including children and a total contrast to most choral works.
