Pratchett at his best
When you move home or get a divorce always make sure that the things you love are packed away with you, I didn't which is why my collection of Disc World books went the way of the dodo, no doubt my ex-wife could well have passed them back to me? Anyway a few years down the line and being ill I find that I need something to cheer me up, what does ebay recommend! Terry Pratchett - The Witches Trilogy, why ebay should select me for this I have no idea but it must be a startling coincidence, a million to one chance which as we know happens 8 times out of 10 according to Pratchett that is, so I decided to purchase the book and hopefully settle down to some good laughs. If you wish to imagine 3 witches then Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Org and Magrat will change your imagination completely, they are as different from the witches we know and love? yet are as compelling. Nanny Org with her songs especially the one about a wizard with a knob on top? Weatherwax without a single spot, wart or anything witchy and Magrat about as dim a witch as you can get, more like a wiccan, thick and flowery without a clue about the occult. Yes these are your main characters, dotty, spotty and dim but you'll get to love them as I did and once you do you will be hooked on the Disc World, buy them in order or you'll get totally confused but perhaps that's the best way the Disc World is a confusing place not one you could move to without having your brains placed on the outside of your head and then bashing your head against a wall, now that's how you get into the Disc World, dizzy and helpless, totally brainless but it will be worth the effort I can assure you. No doubt i'll fall into the trap again and my wife will spend endless hours in silence as I read and guffaw out loud, poor soul but she'll get used to it. Go on, the Disc World can be your type of place, everything under 1 sun sitting atop of a turtle swimming through space, lovely.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
