  • Good Product...

What can I say? This unit works very well and provides a great recording. I had one previously but sold it and decided I needed another one. it does what it is supposed to do and it does it very well. If you need a battery powered digital audio recording device, then I would recommend it. This is a previous model though and there are newer models that do more and are smaller and probably faster. Review what features you need and go from there. I like it and it works well for me.

  • Handy little recorder, get some rechargeable batteries!

This has been a good unit for recording wildlife in our area. It is quite sensitive, and the built in mikes work well. The recorded audio was downloaded to a PC, and Audacity was used for noise reduction and envelop processing. CDs were made with Cheetah CD burning software, and the sound is great! The stereo effect is nice, the audio is very realistic. The only drawback is the capacity of AA batteries. This recorder uses a somewhat unusual power input plug, it's the same as the one used on the old XM mobile receivers - EIAJ II. Once you've got one of those, hooking this recorder up to a LI-ION power pack makes it a really usuable recorder. Almost any 2500 MAh pack will give multiple hours of recording. Keep a set of rechargeables installed to keep the time and memory alive, and you're ready to do some serious recording.

  • My fantastic purchase

As a member of a choir, I use this recorder whenever I want to listen and review songs performed by the choir during the mass. So far it exceeds my expectation and other members also enjoy the replay...I recommend this product to everyone!

  • The DR-07 is perfect - the DR-07X is not.

This has more extremely useful features than the DR-07X. But it is out of production. You have to have both (which I have) to appreciate the difference. I bought this as a back-up to the DR-07 I have been using. I don't know what Tascam had in mind to eliminate the features of the 07. Crazy. But they are hard to get now. Grab one if you can.

  • DR-07 is an older Tascam recorder, great value for almost functional compatibility with DR-05, DR-40, et al

Good condition older DR-07 recorders are great values if you have a need to share recordings with parishioners from media recorded at your church. For other similar uses, this is great. The downside of the DR-07 is lack of ability to power this off USB cable and switch between USB mode and recorder mode while still attached to USB. Newer DR-05, DR-07mkII, DR-40, et al Tascam recorders have this very desirable USB feature.

  • Great it works

Like most Tascam equipment, you turn it on and hit record and it records. Then hit playback it plays back. You do not have to have a degree in computer programing from M.I.T. to play a passage and record it and play it back. It does just what I want it to do. Without a lot of hassle. I recommend it. It is not a 32 track recorder. If that is what you want, you have to buy a thirty two track recorder. Thanks I like this. W.N. L.

  • Tascam used DR-07

I purchased a used unit. Cosmetically a little beat up but functions well. Recordings are great for the price. Easy to use and will be very useful for many applications.

  • Happy with everything! Great working device!

Great apparatus for work! There is all necessary - a possibility of the record wav 16 or 24bit, food for the external electret microphone, volume control, indication of a kliping, monitoring via earphones, low-cut the filter and are a lot of what else. My expectations the device fully fulfilled!

  • Sound is Key

External voice recording is key to great video production. The Tascam DR-07 is good for interviews and acoustic recordings.
