I don't usually pick up fiction, but was en...couraged by a friend to read this novel. The author has researched the setting of World War 2 and the German occupation of France very well - so well I felt the account to be an actual record. The account and background of Hitler Youth is completely correct - I can personally vouch for that! The truth is there in this book Well written - apart from the odd Americanism (off of being one irritation) but this is a niggle since generally the prose is taut though descriptive. Don't want to spoil the story = just pick it up and you will see the light.
