This product feels good in your hand and looks the part, however it is only suitable for stripping light wires. It cannot strip outer sheaths and I find that it does not like to strip single solid copper wires, preferring the strands instead. You also need to fine tune the cutter/stripper which is not a chore if you just have one type of wire to strip. If you have different types of wires/cables or different thickness of wires, it can be a chore. If it was a case of the latter I defer to my trusty pair of "nippers". (Pro Diagonal Type of wire cutters) They can cope with anything.

Ive been wanting one of these for a while now as stripping wires is a chore for non electricians like me, who dabble with easy electrics but wouldnt tackle the big stuff.I saw this for under a tenner and thought id chance it. Amtech i believe are a uk supplier of tools usually good enough for the diy market. Anyway, there are better strippers out there, but will set you back double to 3 times the price of these. I have cut most wires with these and they do work quite well. I would imagine the professional sets are better but they do work well. I found that you do need to press them quite hard so it strips the wire and doesnt slide off. If you are doing lots of wiring then id say go to screwfix etc and buy the pro sets available, but for the occasional wire strip then these are good, especially for the money i paid. Read full review
