This film scared me half to death when i was younger so im gonna see if its still as scary as it use to be ;)
clear and crisp pictures
As good as I knew it as a child. Quality of the picture is as good as original. Nice to revisit this old film.
It's a classic Film. Very enjoyable...Very different. Great political inuendos. would recommend this film to anyone but with parental supervision with young children.
Animation without sentimentality
This animation is largely true to Orwell's dark vision, with only the ending modified - and even that is now oddly fitting given the fall of Communism. There are a number of reasons that this film earns an excellent rating from me. First, it avoids for the most part the cutesy sentimentality that is usually found in animations featuring animals (i.e. Disney, always!). There IS a 'lovable' duckling but I suppose that has to be allowed as a minimal concession to the child audience. Second, the quality of the animation is very good for those pre-CGI, pre-Pixar days. Third, as alrady observed the storyline preserves for the most part the pessimism of Orwell.
What a great film
First English full length colour film. Not excatly the same as the book but worth a watch. Esp if you are doing this for english lit at school
