This iPod was my first iPod purchase, so I didn't want... to spend a lot in case I didn't like it. The capacity was ideal, I had 1600 songs which fitted easily. I knew the backlight wasn't working, but as I wanted to take it for long walks, it would spend most of its time in my pocket, so that wasn't a problem. I didn't know when I bought it that the battery life was only 2 hours, I took it on a 5 mile sponsored walk and it died before I finished! A couple of days later, I got 1/2 hour out of it, and less than that when I made a playlist. Overnight it lost about 1/4 charge. I have since sold this iPod back on eBay as faulty, hoping the buyer can use it on a docking station, and bought a 'new' 4GB pink version, which I am more than happy with. I can only get 400 songs on, but if I only play it for a couple of hours a day, it should take about a week to play them all, then I can re-load different ones. The battery life is excellent too, hasn't gone flat yet, though I do keep it topped up. Only loses a small charge overnight. All in all a great little product, and I won't hesitate to replace it with the same or slightly newer version when it dies.
Easy to use once you've set yourself up... to use apple software. Itunes links really well with the ipod and easy to manage my songs. There are a few annoying things like not being able to edit playlists on your ipod when not connected to itunes and the screen sometimes seems to turn on when its off and locked. But apart from that its a nice piece of kit

Very good product. Stores more than enough... music, also has a Radio and and a camera facility. Well compacted, so easy to carry around.
love the design and the overall simplicity..., i purchased one second hand so it may be the cause, but the battery life doesn't seem to last long as the backlighting seems to eat it quite quickly...other than that, brilliant ipod :)
