Just plugged the SD card in and connected to iPad, the photos uploaded without any problem. Good product, works well.

You can ONLY export to your IPad or IPhone, you cannot transfer any data whatsoever to your SD card, not the readers fault just Apple's way of security. There are two versions of this SD card reader sold by Apple or other retailers you need to take note of. The newer: MJYT2ZM/A which supports 3.0 for the newer Pro line and is a lot more stable in connection and read times. The previous version (This one): MD822ZM/A doesn't support 3.0; since they only added it into the newer SD card reader (one above) So any description selling this version and claiming that it supports 3.0 are downright lying to you or trying to fob off fakes. Using the IPad Pro 12.9 for my editing and daily work, I needed something to transfer my files from my 90Mbs 64GB SD card, which I use in my Pentax K-S1; RAW and JPEG formats. I purchased this one because it was a lot cheaper and people I knew held it in high praise... seems they knew nothing of large capacity storage higher than 16GB or they dabbled only in low capacity data photos 1-3mbs. I got the item in quick time from the seller I purchased it from. I opened it up and plugged it into my Pro straight off the bat, but the read times are bloody ridiculous; 30GB'S of data, photos all in RAW would have taken me way too long... Export times are actually quick and easy, but the read times are just down right atrocious, something that just drags it down. For someone who uses JPEG and much smaller capacity cards, then go for this for sure, since the newer version is around £29-35 from varied retailers and that is a turn off. This is the Lightning 2.0 model not 3.0Read full review

I have been using an 8GB card in my camera which was a mini SD card in an SD card adapter. It transferred the pictures but when returned to the camera it was locked and it has been out of action ever since. All other SD cards work properly. So beware of min SD cards in adapters! I bought this unintentionally in South Africa as I did the camera at the same time. Lesson learnt - be careful buying this sort of thing a broad as the Canon camera was faulty as well.

This allowed me to get all my pictures from my camera to my iPad whilst away on holiday. The connectivity was a bit flakey, but it would usually last 10 minutes or so, plenty to offload all the new pictures. For the cost, excellent value and simplicity itself to use.

I have used this SD reader to transfer images from my camera SD card to my iPad and it works just fine giving a quick, easy transfer with no messing about. Well worth the money.
