I bought the tablet as spares/repairs. I had it repaired and its works fine. Was my first android device and I have found it very easy to use. Downloading apps is easy enough. Screen quality is very good, bright and crisp. HD videos look amazing on it and it has a wide viewing angle so two people can watch at the same time with no problems. Sound quality is also very good, it has dual speakers on either side of the screen where as a lot of tablets (Archos G9 series, Ipad) only have one speaker. I like the fact I can easily connect the tablet via bluetooth to my mobile (Sony W995) and surf the web where ever I am, it will also tether to many other phones so you have instant 3G access.
I bought the Archos 70 predominantly as a travelling companion, to keep in touch when travelling, using the built-in Wi-Fi whilst stopping in Wi-Fi hot spots. Before this, I used a smart-phone, but although the specification of the phone made it more than capable, the small screen size of a phone makes even the simplest tasks very fiddly. The Archos 70 however, has a much larger screen, which makes navigation so much easier than a smart-phone. It utilises Android 2.2 software, so the interface is similar to the majority of smart-phones and which I actually prefer to the Mac software that the i-pad uses. The i-pad 2 is a superb tablet computer, slim and light like the Archos, but quite a bit bigger and at more than three times the cost of what I paid for the Archos, which to choose was a no-brainer. The one I bought was the 8 Gigabyte version, but with a micro SD expansion slot, the storage capacity can be expanded in a few seconds and these days, the cost of this is minimal. The 1GHz processor ensures that everything happens at a decent pace and the phenomenal battery life should give you a good 6-7 hours of web-surfing time between charges. It has a very good built-in web-cam too and remarkably decent speakers for a unit which is so small and slim, so using it as a media or MP3 player is not out of the question. By putting it to sleep rather than shutting it down altogether, doesn't seem to be detrimental to the battery life, but means in turns back on in just a couple of seconds and whilst in sleep mode, you will get audio alerts when new emails are delivered. I paid just £130.00 for mine brand new, so for a cheap, easy to use and fairly powerful tablet computer, the Archos 70 has to be a serious contender in the over-populated tablet computer market.Read full review
good well put together but one or two wrong does not support google play for apps does not run some apps but ways round it . too save u time go new 101 or higher
Bought ad needed a good media player, really like it good for on the go, compared to other devices this one is easy to use and good quality
I was disappointed in this product, not only because it had a faulty battery which wouldn't charge. This meant that it went straight back to the seller, but there are other, better tablets on the market. There is no graphical accelerator so the image will not follow the orientation of the tablet nd my model had no HDMI output socket which was an important requirement.
