Its wasn't for me. It's for the kids and they love it!!! I very lucky to get this copy at such a price.
I am not a huge fan of this film. I found it too silly but its more of a childs film. It has some average acting, silly script, some good scenery. The film wasn't boring but a lot of silly fun. Good for children. Plot: Set in 1872, the story focuses on Passepartout, a Chinese thief who steals a valuable jade Buddha and then seeks refuge in the traveling companionship of an eccentric London inventor and adventurer, Phileas Fogg, who has taken on a bet with members of his gentlemen's club that he can make it around the world in a mere 80 days, using a variety of means of transportation, like boats, trains, balloons, elephants, etc. Along the way, Passepartout uses his amazing martial arts abilities to defend Fogg from the many dangers they face.. One major threat to their adventure is a detective that's following them. Why? Their path from London and back includes stops in Paris, Turkey, India, China and USA...Read full review
Around The World in 80 Days
What can I say that has not been said before? I have both the David Niven film and the Brosnam film, both excellent viewing. However when I saw this new film advertised I was prepared to criticize it as jumping on the band wagon, but no, it’s really good, differing from the other two films enough to be entertaining, plus, if you are a Jacky Chan Fan then this is a good one for you. One to watch to watch.
Around The World In 80 Days
i decided to buy this DVD after my daughter saw a bit if it on TV. It's a fantastic film and excellent family viewing. my daughter enjoyed it very much. Both funny and exciting the lead characters are brilliantly played by Steve Coogan (alias Phileas Fog) and Jackie Chan (alias Passpartout). On a mission to circumnavigate the world in 80 days to prove to the head of the Royal Acadamy of Science (Jim Broadbent) that it can be done they set off on a race around the world by land air and see.
