Lovely tear jerker film
Lovely film. Characters well acted and portrayed. Highlighted how badly we treated half caste children, which our white men had help to create! Quite a tear jerker x
Incredible film. Laughs, Shockers and Tears, you'll experience them all
This is a film that captures you from the very beginning, Hugh Jackman's beautiful performance shows him change from a tough Drover, who spends up to 6 months away from his village at a time and as someone who struggles to show his emotions, to a, (for want of a better word) Family man. Towards the end of the film, he realises that to be respected and looked up to in life, you don't have to be somebody that you believe everyone wants you to be, just yourself. Nicole Kidman also offers a stunning performance as an English Aristocrat of the 1930's, to whom the film centers on. She befriends a little boy 'Nullah' (Brandon Walters) whom she comforts after his mother drowns from hiding from the authorities. By singing "Over The Rainbow" from The Wizard Of Oz she manages to restore faith to this young boy who believes he is a nobody (Because he belongs to no-one) The song "Over The Rainbow" plays a huge part in the film, It breaks Drover (Hugh Jackman) into realising he doesn't always have to hide his emotions and appear 'Strong' for everyone around him. As well as this however, this song concludes the film, I won't tell you how but I would definatly recommend this film to anyone and writing this review is making me want to watch it now! I hope this is of some use to youRead full review
