I have had several of the "gearless" type ratchet hex drivers in the past & all of them failed after the inevitable rolling off the bench & hitting the floor! This "pistol grip" driver had some appeal so that it wouldn't roll around.... It does that very well & also gives more torque in that position. It's a fairly smooth or fine ratchet mechanism (i.e. it "clicks") so it's not gearless which was a bit of a disappointment to be honest but it works well enough. The worst feature though is the bit holder in the end of the handle which can be extremely difficult to get open! Good price, feels good in use & less likely to roll and/or hit the floor so I think it will last longer than my previous gearless drivers :-)

I bought one of these for my son when he bought a house that needed refurbishment. I loved it and wanted one for myself. It's principal feature is it's build quality. It has a very smooth, well engineered feel in use. My only, minor, gripe is the amount of pressure required to release the housing for the heads in the top of the body. Not enough to take a star off, though.

Bought this to replace an old ratcheted Stanley pistol driver. It is well made but the shaft is WAY too long (and the handle too short), so it's hard to use in tight spaces. The shaft also has some noticeable and rather annoying wobble (so did the Stanley). What I like though (compared to others i.e Stanley) is the grip engineered into the metal shaft, makes easier finger-spinning loose screws. All in all I would probably buy again if it wasn't for the very high price.

Very high quality tool, with smooth and for want of a better descriptive term, Nice action, The pistol grip aids well when extra grunt (tech term) is required. These ratchet drivers are made by one manufacturer then sold under some of the TOP Compay names like :- BluePoint, Britool, Bahco, Sealey, or Siegen tools, Faithfull, All reputable brands in my humble opinion,
