This has got to be the bargain of the year. The radio... is fantastic. I bought it as a back up handheld vhf for my yacht, cheap enough to not worry if it gets dropped in the sea or left on the table in a pub. It was delivered all stuffed in a "jiffy" bag rather than a nice glossy printed cardboard box so my hopes were no very high but as I put it together I was impressed with the quality of the unit. All mouldings were properly finished and the complete unit feels robust and very well made even the charger and docking station are above average quality. The instruction book is printed in pretty good English though it is in tiny print and is rather too concise for my liking. The buttons and switches are good quality and have a very pleasant feel when using and the beep reassures you that the input is working so on quality it is as good or better than the big names. Then come the features!!!!! It is utterly brilliant, 2 way programmable ship to shore, FM radio for tunes in the cockpit, amazing sound quality for such a little unit, torch, strobe, voice activation and loads more. The manual is not the best but after a bit of trial and a lot of error I worked my way round it all and programmed the main UK marine channels in on their normal numbers so CH 16 is the marine distress etc. Dual watch works well as does the scan. This unit packs a raft of features. The range is good on the low power so I have never needed high power but I am sure it will be equally impressive. For just over £20 this has to be my Best Buy so far this year, the only way it could be better would be if they did a waterproof version, but an aqua pack works fine especially with the voice activation. Buy one (or two) and I promise you will love it

Different chargers and single transmit button. Backward step. Was... hard to program using cable. Used ‘chirp ‘ and cloned a mark1 then only way to communicate was to use the boafeng gt3wp profile and copied/ pasted cloned data into that. Messy but it worked. It means you have to have different batteries and chargers if you have the mark1 radios. The bad point with my supplier was they sent a non British standard adapter. It was unfused, unshuttered( tiny fingers can poke into it) and not pat testable. Not the first time I have received these dangerous adapters though.

Great little radio, light weight battery life is good easily l...asts a day! The included headset is handy to keep things a little more private, the handset was very easy to setup & use it is dual band too & can be setup either via computer or type frequency's directly into the radio with the built in keypad, the belt clip is attached by 2 little screws on the back & it is secure enough to clip on to belt etc. There is also a little torch built in to the top of the radio which is a handy feature, you'll need the optional usb lead if you'd like to connect the radio to computer and use the software to setup frequency tho & neither the lead or the software are included but are very cheap to buy all in all tho very happy with my purchase these are ideal for days out with family to the park etc. Definitely would recommend

As the title says, it's a more res...ponsive keypad, faster reactions from keypad, and display. That is compared to my other baofeng radios (dualband uv5r/5r+/5b/) Easy to use with "chirp"(a free program) (+pc cable) and the abbreviations and so on in the menu makes sense after a few YouTube- videos. Battery charged from the start, is always a plus. Not much more to say other than it is a well made model. I saw a video where a guy sprayed water on one, froze, ran over with truck and burned it. AND RADIO WORKED AFTER ALL THAT. For the money compared to other brands, this is a steal. My seventh.

For price, it's amazing. Lots ...of amateur Hams on YouTube talking about how good it is can be believed. I bought two and intend to buy another. It's tiny, light and we use it for camping and all kinds of outdoor activities. It feels solid and well made with good clear audio. The FM radio is also really clear, and great when cycling along listening to music from your favourite public radio station. If another member of my group transmits, the FM radio on my walkie talkie automatically mutes, allowing the transmission/call through. Be aware there are several versions of this radio and go on YouTube and watch the reviews from youtubers to get a feel for this device.
