It took many brews to need descaling , then it needed so...mething doing to put out the permanent red light . The drinks are OK but too expensive, to have more than one a day. The very clever "picture" instructions are more than difficult to understand , but then that might be me (silver surfer) Red light still on after a week and although I have descaled it twice it's still glowing "redly". It was a Christmas present 2017 and I would have thought it would have lasted a bit longer before it caused problems. p.s. Keep getting "milker" leakage which then sends the machine into meltdown, until the bar code reader glass is thoroughly washed. Apart from all of these problems it's been a dream ? Wish it was as good as the Bosch power tools that have given faithful and problem free use for many many years.
