Bought to replace my Nespresso. It's more of a gimmick than anything, by a far lower league than Nespresso as all the coffee capsules are pretty poor tasting so far (I bought 1 of every one I could find). Biggest disappointment is that the capsules are working out about 2-3 times the price of Nespresso as well. The rest of the family who hate coffee love this machine for the other fancy chai lattes and hot chocolates which they inform me as being superb, albeit about £0.70 a cup...

W...e bought our Bosch white Tassimo around 18 months ago, and at first we were delighted with both the design and the output. Although we don’t tend to buy white kitchen top appliances, the machine did not look out of place, and was not obtrusive on our counter top. I am a big fan of coffee chain beverages, which is why we made the investment. Whilst the pods did not produce something as good as a barista made hot drink, I thought that the coffee came out very well. It was frothy, creamy (for the milk based products) and quick to make. I tried a number of the different Tassimo products, but preferred the lattes. For many of the drinks, I was disappointed by the cup size, for others, I just didn’t like the taste. I found cleaning the machine quite difficult right from the start. It was very hard to remove the nozzle components, and despite attempts to soak and clean them I wasn’t able to extract all of the dried coffee. After a while the machine began to empty small dark lumps of dried coffee into my drinks. To thoroughly clean the system, a further disc is provided so that hot water can be run through. We were running through many jugs of hot water before the system was clean, and even at this point tiny dots of dried coffee was still evident in the water. By this point, 18 months after purchase, every single time I make a cup of coffee, the entire machine requires fully cleaning. So that’s several jugs of hot water running through the system, and the full nozzle set soaking and washing. What I also noticed in the first few weeks, is that sometimes the milk pods did not fully empty, which means when you remove them from the machine a mixture of hot milk and water, which remains in the milk pods, drips (or runs), all over the machine (and pretty much everywhere else). 18 months down the line, this happens with every milk pod that we use. Today I made my last latte with our Tassimo machine. We are now ‘decommissioning’ this appliance, that is, cleaning it (yet again), and stashing it in the loft. Overall I think that the Tassimo Bosch coffee makers are a great convenience for coffee lovers, and hot drink lovers alike, to enjoy their favourite beverage at home. Sadly, the experience of constant cleaning, bitty coffee, and hot watery milk draining all over the worktop has really left a bitter taste in my mouth.

The instructions are just in picture f...orm and must be followed exactly in order or the machine doesn't work. The coffee does work out expensive, especially as we live in a hard water area and bought the one with the water filter hence not just coffee pods to buy. The coffee is however, very nice and hot which is how we like it. Well worth getting this machine and treating yourself to a better cup of coffee.
