Bubba Ho-Tep (DVD 2005)
This film is very entertaining, and funny, if your an Elvis fan, who hates any fun being made of him then forget it, as to me you have no sense of humor unlike Elvis himself. Classed as a horror, some scenes might make you jump, but most of all a great film made with a low budget and a good B movie of which the producers state themselves. Watch and enjoy.
A highly underated film that passed by unoticed the year of its release. Starring Bruce Campbell as Elvis Presley. The film tells the story behind the death of Elvis with a red neck mummy thrown in for good measure. A FILM NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!
Elvis got old
A gem of a film. Totally silly, off the wall and yet with a certain sniff of reality to it, for all that it revolves around Elvis Presley's partnership with JFK as they fight off a good ol' boy Egyptian mummy which is sucking the souls out of the residents of a West Texas retiral home... And Marilyn? 'That's a state secret!' You might recognise the stars of the show from somewhere else, too!
I thought this film was really funny, had me in stitches. Just have to suspend your logic for a while, Elvis and a black JFK in an old people's home, and how does the egytian Mummy get into an american old peoples home? But put them all together and mix it all up, you have a surprising cocktail.
If you're a fan of Bruce Campbell or the Evil Dead films, you'll love this! Bruce Campbell plays Elvis, alive and not very well in a nursing home in Texas. Along with a black man claiming to be JFK (played by Ossie Davis) he takes on a mummy who is killing the inhabitants of the nursing home. Insane and hilarious movie!
