I bought this camera on the premises that it is the most professional compact digital camera on the market. Usually i use steves-digicams.com to make a decision about any camera i buy, but this one was only just on the market. Retailing in Dublin for 550euro, the best offer on ebay was 400euro which included a 2 gig memory card, almost a reason in itself to buy it. Some of the features included a very high shutter speed option (3200 iso) which turned out to be a fantastic option. The battery life is amazing. I took it out to events for a week, took 500 photos and over an hour of video before it needed recharging. The videos are quite impressive, and there's a High Resolution option to choose from, although the smaller video size is about 60mb for 30 seconds. I think there's an option to switch to DivX, but i haven't found it yet. There is an incredible amount of very professional options available, white balance, the vividness of certain or all colours, face recognition and enhancement, and of course a very high resolution. About 6mb for the top quality jpeg. One fault i found, and i'm not sure if it's one with my specific camera, the memory card or the model of camera, but every 100th or so photo does not transfer to the memory card properly. There is a reference to it in the manual, so i guess that it is a common and very irritating fault. I would recommend this camera if you take high quality photos, but be sure you get a warrenty for you region when you do. Mine was in Japanese, so almost completely useless. It's overall a camera packed with almost too many features. It will take you a while to get used to them all, but it's totally worth it.Read full review
I already own one of these which I purchased new 20 years ago! Mine is in better condition but this one I can afford to leave in my car! It has a selectable view finder as an alternative to using the screen which is difficult to see in sunlight! I also have a wide angle 200 IS for use when the 900 ti isn't quite right or not in my pocket? It needed a case which I bought and managed to obtain the duplicate of the same one I bought 20 years ago! This camera model is a pocket point and shoot! No airs and no graces, Takes the place of my two Digital SLR's with ease!

Nice shape. Good features. I bought it because it is a Canon camera. Would have preferred to have more 'scenes', eg night snapshot, sports etc. Camera shake button switches on very often in certain pictures. Still have to experiment and learn how to use it. Took great pictures while on holiday.
Although an old camera, the iixus takes brilliant underwater macro shots. Very impressive, plenty of options for varied shots. Easy to open and remove sd card and the battery last for two days diving at a time.
