THE SELLER REPORTED THAT THE PRINTER REQUIRED A NEW PRINTHEAD AND AFTER CONFIRMATION CHECKS ONE WAS BOUGHT AND REPLACED. THIS IS EASY COMPARED TO THE EPSON PRINTHEAD (THE R2880) WHICH IS NOT ONLY VERY EXPENSIVE BUT DIFFICULT TO REPLACE.A FAULTY PRINTHEAD ON AN EPSON IN REALITY MEANS A NEW PRINTER....THE CANON PRINTHEAD ON THE OTHER HAND IS MUCH EASIER TO REPLACE AND MUCH CHEAPER. (£109 ON EBAY) ....BOTH PRINTERS GIVE EXCELLENT RESULTS ,THE CANON BEING SLIGHTLY SLOWER WHEN PRINTING A3. THE CANON USES PIGMENT INK FOR LONGEVITY OF IMAGE THE EPSON WAS USING DYE INK BUT CAN USE PIGMENT INK. THERE ARE DIFFERENCES IN THE SPEC , FOR INSTANCE NO ROLL PAPER FEED ON THE CANON BUT FACILITY FOR POSTER PRODUCTION. THE CANON IS A GREAT PRINTER AND A JOY TO USE BUT THE INK CARTRIDGES ARE EXPENSIVE, HOWEVER THE CASH STRAPPED USER CAN USE ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF FILLING THE CARTRIDGES.Read full review
The canon 9500 printer is vey good and also enables you to print on canvas for those who want to use it for Art purposes. The 10 ink cartridges are vey expensive and the refillable types do not work,as I found out, thus making it expensive on inks. You must therefore be carefull how to use it and dont waste it by trying out a lot of this or that.(you can do trials on another one if you like as most users would use a A4 plain standby printer) Please also note that photo quality paper is not cheap, but overall the results with this printer are very good and worthwhile. The 9000 printer is equally good but uses 9 inks and is more expensive in ink use.
Excellent printer. Print quality excellent. Ihad seen examples of prints from this model. It is very easy to use and the software. I have only ever used Brother 3 in 1`s before and the Canon is in a different class.
