yet another dark black metal cd by the filth boys - heavy fast and says a big F*** you. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Okay - I'm a HUGE Cradle fan and have been there since the very beginning screeching at the Filthman at gigs all over so it's not like me to find fault with the band but this is a bloody awful album... Compare it to the likes of Cruelty and the Beast and Principle and you'll find that Cradle have done that horrid thing that bands keep doing - they sold out. This is an album of bad vocals on the part of Mr Filth, horrid wailing from Sarah Jezebel Deva and is what I'm calling their "Teeny-bopper album". I don't mean to be cruel - I love the band but this album is dire and they've made an album the way they thought the kids wanted it to sound... For veteran Filth fans this is just a waste of money. Out of 10? 2...
Very good album - all tracks are solid and well constructed with proper energetic riffs and haunting melodies. The album has been mixed well - delivering the sounds to your eardrums in full colour! The title track for me is still the best on the album. Great
I only really bought this album for the title track as I thought it was the only Cradle of Filth song I liked. I was soon proved wrong, I don't think there is a bad song on it, ideally I'd like a bit more conventional singing but you can't have it all.
Lovely belting album... Personally I think 'Nymphetamine' may be the Filth's best song, and the rest of the album isn't bad either. A good mix of thrashy riffage, goth shouting, choral arangements and subtle classical interludes. No Filth fan should let this one pass.
