Cumbre is a communicative and grammatical course with three levels, designed for adults, university students and professionals. The levels are: Beginners(Elemental), Intermediate(Medio) and Advanced(Superior). It features: selected and classified material (essentially authentic) according to functional criteria; a balance between activities to practise the four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) and consolidation mechanisms (repetition, grammar, and vocabulary); tasks or projects to stimulate students' creativity; and, a focus on Hispanic universality through texts, songs, maps, photographs, linguistic contrasts...The Student's Book is divided into 16 units, plus one review and self-assessment section every 4 units. The book includes at the back the listening activities' texts, a grammar section and a word list. A very popular course since 1995 when it was first introduced. The first level has its accompanying audio CD and for the other two levels there are cassettes.
