The pixie kit is well put together as far as kits go but it's a very primitive circuit so performs very poorly. Buy one of you want to practice your construction skills but don't expect any actual use from the thing as it's very deaf on receive and throws out tons of harmonics on transmit. I've bought a few of these from various sellers for comparison and they're all the same. It's amazing that it works at all given the simplicity of the circuit. There are lots of versions of this on sale with various connector options so maybe it's a good cheap source of components. I'd recommend putting in a few more ££ and buying something like the QCX kit which is incredible value for money.

Really good kits, value for money as individual components would cost more than the kit. I did have a few problems when I placed components in the wrong places and they needed to be desoldered-the way around this is to check component values several times before soldering on to board. There are several ways to use this kit. It is a useful introduction to soldering, and can be used to transmit by licensed amateurs at QRP power levels.

I haven't had chance to put the kit together yet, but checking the parts its really good quality and value for money. I am looking forward to building and using it.

I can't believe the high quality of the PCB alone for the cost of this kit.

A great item and piece of technology that come with more parts than they offered, making it better.
