This series, regrettably all too short, is further confirmation of what a truly original and unique talent Victoria Wood was. Her observations about people which she injected into her oh-so-memorable characters were so pin sharp they live long in the memory. We missed the series when they were first aired but are so glad to have seen them since. The actors did a first class job but they could hardly have failed to with such brilliant material. It will never become dated which, like Dad's Army and 'Allo, 'Allo, is true proof of comedy genius. Not to be missed!

Me and my dad have been watching this show since about 1999 but still hadn't managed to see all of the episodes. Therefore, what better way to see them all (over and over again) than to get the DVD? The layout of the menu is very simple and easy to use which makes it the perfect product for this TV show. If you're looking to buy this show already, I am assuming that you have already seen at least one episode. If you haven't, however, it's definitely not one to miss out on. Having an ensemble cast, each character is vital to the show and they all are hilarious. I would go as far as to say that this is possibly one of my favourite shows ever (maybe my favourite). I am guessing that if you like other British comedies such as Father Ted or Fawlty Towers, you will love this. The only downside to the whole product for me is the fact that there is only 16 episodes. However, maybe this prevented the show from being repetitive.Read full review
What can you say anything about the late, great and much missed VICTORIA WOOD. Anything and Everything was to perfection and well polished. This dvd is worth it's weight in gold. I have followed this up by buying ACORN ANTIQUES. Having being housebound for over a year now, I have all my much loved comedy sit coms on dvd and look back at the golden years of TV. Ian Davis

This was an amazing programme when you consider it was set entirely in a fictitious canteen of a factory. For me it relies on exceptional writing ability and well developed characters. Victoria Wood was a great comedienne, actress and writer. She brought together a cast that enhanced her writing and gave the show life. It is a comedy classic that I rank highly with other gems such as, Only Fools and Horses, Fawlty Towers, Dad's Army, Open All Hours, etc, etc. If you are a fan of older British comedy programmes, (as opposed to the drivel produced nowadays), then this is a must see.

This is an excellent collection. I could watch it over and over and still find something new to like about it,. It is sad to think she will not write anything more to entertain us but wonderful to think we have such insightful comments on the world we live in. We need to laugh at ourselves to keep us grounded in this unsettled world. I would highly recommend this to anyone especially if they need to ' lighten up'. Janet Rotherham
