There is little doubt that the recent oil boom (2006-2014) and subsequent downturn in unconventional production has reshaped rural lives and landscapes. Emily Eaton is an associate professor of geography at the University of Regina specializing in political economy and natural resource economies. She is also active in a variety of social justice struggles.
