I needed this machine to run the racing simulation Grand Prix Legends. This was first released in 1998 and as such knows nothing about multi-core cpu technology. Furthermore, GPL uses its cpu to do much of the graphics work as high end GFx cards were not prevelant in 1998. The important feature of this bundle is that each core is running at over 3GHz, enabling it to run GPL at 60fps instead of the original 36fps. It works a treat!

This forms the basis of my hand built PC with used/refurbished/marketplace parts. I also already owned other parts. Cheapest LGA 1155 board I could find. VGA port was described as faulty but I intended to add a GPU in any case so that was not an issue. Board was excellent value and performs as it should do for a basic board. Fast enough for my purposes but then the GPU is doing most of the work. I was able to build an i5 Quad-Core processor PC for under £160 (already had HDD).

Pretty basic m/board, still has a parallel port on the board; also some ps2 connectors. basically a simple and cheap board. NO fixings for processor fan had to get one from another motherboard bios a bit hit and miss with my ssd as it does not see it but still boots from it ???.
