This is a great album. The songs , while all have a Girls Aloud sound, don't all sound alike. There is a good variety of both cover songs and original material. Great group, great songs, great album! I recently discovered this group on You Tube, (they've had virtually no presence here in the U.S., unfortunately!), and this album allowed me to get a lot of their hits all in one shot. I have since purchased another of their CDs and a DVD, both of which I've enjoyed thoroughly!( On a side note-- the jewel box/case the cd came in was different than most here in the U.S.--and much better-easier to open and more durable.) Liked the Spice Girls--like Girls Aloud even more!
I bought this for my grandaughter & she is so pleased with it,been playing it for hours & hours. It was great value for the money.
I bought this CD as i dont mind listening to Girls Aloud, their tunes have always being catchy, although i bought this CD in 2008 it is 2 years old but these songs never die out, I'm actually going to see them in June at Sheffield arena and cant wait and i must say its not only girls that like them but boys do too for obvious reasons! The album cover is plain on the front but has a picture inside of them all and then it has a picture of each track single cover and when it was released and at what chart number they each reached, It also has messages of thanks etc from the girls themselves, The songs on the album are as follows:- 1. Sound of the underground, 2. Love machine, 3. Biology, 4. No good advice, 5. I'll stand by you, 6. Jump, 7. The show, 8. See the day, 9. Wake me up, 10. Life got cold, 11. Something kinda Oooh, 12. Whole lotta history, 13. Long hot summer, 14. Money, 15. I think we're alone now. I'm not usually into girl bands but as you can tell from the tracks listed above it is a good all round CD. Many thanks for reading the review, Jo.Read full review
After hearing Girls Alouds single over the years i found that I have become more and more impressed with the quality of their output. They are peerless in the catchy pop single market . This album documents their work up to I Think Were Alone Now .With excellent catch tunes like No Good Advice ,Something Kinda Ooh ,Biology ,Love Machine and their debut Sound Of The Underground ,this album would put a cheer in anyones heart . Hopefully a later singles collection will include Sexy No No No ,Call the Shots and Cant Speak French but for now this is fantastic .
If you like pure pop, which I do, you will love this collection of hits from Girls Aloud. It wasn't until I purchased their latest album (as I really like their recent stuff) that I really started to realise that I did, in fact, love their older stuff. So I then purchased this, I knew most of the songs of course and instantly I was humming away. It really is a cd to put on if you are feeling a bit down in the dumps or if you just want to have a sing song to. It really is just what it says on the packet, pop and more pop and doesn't try and being anything else! I know my husband will make some comment about my purchase (if its not Depeche Mode or REM etc then it can't be classed as music according to the other half!!!!) I think Girls Aloud and the whole package is supposed to be taken a bit tongue in cheek and that is definitely one of the reasons they have stayed around for so long compared to some of the other reality show stars. So if you don't take yourself too seriously and just want a good sing a long or a boogie in the mirror then purchase it without a second thought!Read full review
