What a terrific little product, a brilliant solution to all those floppy bird feeders and clothes airers. So good, I bought another one! Amazingly quick and easy to install provided you follow these two little tricks first: 1) I soaked the spot in the garden where I wanted to put the item in, with a slow dribble from my garden hose while I had lunch. 2) it's obviously very important to insert the product straight...or the bird feeder/clothes airer you later insert into it won't be upright. Simples! I installed a free spirit-level app on my phone...and placed the phone on the top of the item when I screwed it into the ground using the metal rod supplied. The product comes with two inserts to cater for different diameters of poles you may want to insert into it. When not in use, the item has a lid to prevent it filling up with rainwater...the slight drawback being that it isn't flush with the grass for mowing purposes, but that's hardly a problem!Read full review

Really robust plastic and the metal bar to screw into the ground makes this an easy job. The only problem I had was trying to get it in the ground level so the washing line was upright but no fault of the product!

Well firstly you'll need to get angry and turn green before you'll be able to screw this in to anything but sand with the bar provided. If you do manage it, or use a longer bar (like I did) it will probably crack before you get it all the way in (mine did). Then the cover has tapered chamfers, so it pops out no matter how hard you push it in unless you put a brick on top. So all in all, best to buy one of the ordinary ones you hammer in.
