It took me a long time to go for a Microserver. I have a rack full of 1U & 2U servers from Dell and HP and like the servers being big so was the electricity bill. This maybe a Microserver and it is tiny and sits on the corner of my desk, yes it's also very, very quiet, but it is a giant on value. I thought initially that as it didn't come with a DVD as standard this would prove an issue, not a bit of it with HP's "Intelligent Provisioning. It's a fantastic little server and it's so good I am seriously thinking of getting a second to do away with my noisy PC tower. Great stuff and highly recommended.

This is a significant improvement on previous Generation of Microserver from HP. Quiet, relatively fast and what's more important - energy efficient (averages with my setup 35W-39W). Runs vanilla FreeBSD and in FreeNAS without any trouble.
