I like this fitness DVD because it is straight through no stopping and starting and no silly routines you cant keep up with. Just pure workout sweat which is what we need to keep in shape and burn calories. Perfect! No fuss fitness. "Keep it going"
I bought this DVD as I have recently moved and there are no fitness classes nearby. However, I am already reasonably fit. Although I found the exercise relatively easy I did think this was a well thought-out instructional DVD for beginners as the exercise is split into three sections - easy, intermediate and advanced. Therefore, it allows those new to exercise and those less active to build up their fitness level and aim towards something more challenging. I also thought it was very good how Harvey constantly said what exercise was coming next and counted down the current exercise to the end before going into an intermittent march/jog before the next exercise. This was very helpful. However, my problem with the DVD was 1) The participants didn't seem particularly fit or know quite what they were doing (this is a personal preference to me, others may like this fact). 2) I am at an advanced level of fitness and so know the methods of each exercise. I did think that it would be difficult for beginners to know how to perform the exercises correctly: a small amount of instruction may have helped. Nevertheless, I think it was an excellent beginner to intermediate level DVD with constant movement and focusing on whole body toning. I'd definitely recommend it to others.Read full review
Probably the most boring workout dvd there is-none of the passion, catchphrases or motivation we saw in Celebrity Fit Club. He doesn't even get nasty. As a personal trainer I was hoping for a few interesting exercises and motivation tips from Harvey, but he fails to deliver. The 3 workouts are exactly the same, only with different 'recovery' exercises. Motivation is poor, instruction and technique is virtually non existant. Sargeant Harvey you've let yourself down.
after recently having my third baby i decided it was time to get back into shape, i needed to lose the wobbly bits and excess weight so i decided to give this workout dvd a go, id seen harvey on tv and i knew i needed a bossy person to get me motivated! as soon as it arrived i tried it. it starts with a warmup to get you going before the real stuff begins, but it was such a good warmup i was sweating and my muscles were burning already, and that was just the beginning!! its an hour long dvd but it takes time and lots of practice before youre able to go through the whole thing without a pause! although its hard work to begin with it really is worth sticking at, ive been doing it every day and im seeing and feeling results already!! i have, and will continue to reccommend this to everyone who needs to get fit and lose weight, because it certainly gives results!!Read full review
If you fancy army style and no music except for a slight military tatoo in the background its fine. But i prefere Roosemary Connoly as its to music. You could play music in the back ground as you dont need to listen to him instructing, just copy what the ladies and gent do. He doesnt do anything which is a bit weird. At least Rosemary joins in. Its a bit get up and get down but fitness level you would go up quite quickly. I think this would be better for the men really- bit of eye candy and the roughty toughty bloke in the back ground with Harvey comanding you to get off your but. Over all good, but a better one for men than ladies.
