Needed a petrol mower as we were moving house and now had a larger lawn. My previous electric mower was not up to the task. Knew Hayter was a good make and could get parts etc. Wanted a push mower and not self propelled mower so I could go at my pace and if the grass is long I can go slower than in the summer when it's more brittle and easier to mow. First stop eBay. Didn't want new as had major expense in moving house. Found one near to where we live and started the bidding process! All very exciting following the process and then the notification comes through that I've won!! Communication and collection was very straightforward . The mower needed a few repairs. Soon sorted and very pleased. Only paid thirty quid so bit of a bargain. Briggs engine is fine. Starts second/third pull and runs just fine. Cuts collects well. Having a rear roll means I get a nice stripe which lasts several days. I like its ability to cut very close up to obstacles as the blade runs very close to the outside of the mower. As its only about sixteen inch cut not suitable for an enormous lawn but it's perfect for mine. Takes me about thirty minutes to cut my lawn. Build quality is good. Small hole in the fabric of the collection basket which I suspect is maybe a weaker area. Overall very pleased and would not hesitate recommending the Hayter HobbyRead full review
Lightweight easy to maintain and easy to start. Great for small to medium garden and has a great little solid grass box that holds quite a lot.
