In this fifth collection of embroidery, Helen M. Stevens captures the diversity of nature from the polar caps to the tropics through flora, fauna, birds and insects. She shows how even fantasy worlds can come vividly to life by using the embroiderer's imagination and inspiration in exciting ways
Helen M. Stevens is a talented embroidery artist whose pictures are now held in collections all over the world. The Embroiderer's Countryside, The Embroiderer's Country Album, The Timeless Art of Embroidery, and The Myth and Magic of Embroidery, along with her latest 'Masterclass' series have ensured a dedicated following both at home and abroad. Helen is a member of the Society of Women Artists, only the third textile artist to be so honoured, and in 1990 received a commission from the House of Commons, which remains the only textile piece ever to have become part of the Palace of Westminster Collection.
