Two of Ilford's best known and most forgiving films here. For those (like me) returning to film photography, or for those discovering it for the first time, you can't really go wrong here. FP4+ for everyday shooting, HP5+ for when the lighting isn't so good. If you're developing it yourself, both films will easily push a couple of stops, giving you the chance to shoot the HP5+ at 1600ISO if you need. Buy some and have fun.

The quality of Ilford 400HP5 is good, as always. The price is a bit higher then I buy usually from other sources- but on ebay this was the cheapest and you know the ebay its generally expensive

When processed the product gives good contrast with just the right amount of grain. I use a Nikon FG with a 50mm 1.4 pancake lens and get good results.

Great black and white film which I used with my Olympus Trip 35. Love the grain effect of this film.

i used to develop films in the 90's, but stopped when we got cable tv, as i sold my darkroom....long story. Moving onto the present day, i decided to develop my black and white films, and this was an old favourite. I developed in Ilfosol 3 and was amazed at how fine grained the film was, and its tonal range was much better that you would get by taking a digital camera in black and white mode. Recommended.
